If you could read minds for a day, would you?
Yes, I’d love to find out a person’s story in a quick manner. Most people keep their stories close to their heart. I want a glimpse into what makes them tick. What childhood experience peek through, what did they learn?
I’d like to see the story behind the person and I could do that by reading minds. Give me the quick glimpse and let me in.

I have a friend who lives in a beautiful house high on a hill. To the world, it looks like she and her husband have it made. To those who know her story, they see her leave every night at 10:30 to work the 3rd shift in the next town. Her job went bust when the economy tanked.
A married neighbor with the cutest little girl just found out she has cancer… and her part time job doesn’t include health insurance.
People rarely share their stories, yet, that’s what makes us so unique. They tuck them away, move forward and visit them every now and then. I want to peek… just a peek.
Growing up I had people I looked up to and loved. One friend in particular told me decades later that she always envied me and my large, loud family and the overt ways we showed affection. Awareness of that sentiment would have been good to know back then because I could have appreciated my family (and the world) more and found more ways to have her in my home – a place where she felt safe and loved.
I would just bop in to the mind, get the story and leave. No muss, no fuss– easy, peasy.
Just for a day, I’d like to read minds. Would you?
