Sometimes, I just want…

Selfish me, sometimes I just want…

  • A wood burning fireplace
  • A view of the mountains from my front room
  • Someone to curl up with at night
  • Homemade sugar cookies with frosting
  • A sleepover with my friends in a mountain location
  • To lie under a dark sky, with a new moon and count the stars
  • Wine and cheese for supper… just because.

What sort of things do you want … just for the heck of it?

Sweet Music Compilations

In September 2018, a friend introduced me to the music by Maggie Rogers. I fell in love and returned home to find as much of her music on youtube.com that I could locate.

Last week she was the music act on Saturday Night Live. I was thrilled to see her there.

In looking for her, I found Indie/Pop Compilations that have introduced me to a WIDE variety of wonderful music.

This series is from November 2018. Check it out and fall in love. It’s an 1.5 hour of solid play. Not a ton of ads and interruptions. I keep returning.

And the Ultimate Indie-Folk Playlist will take your breath away. At least I hope so. It makes me just stand still in my path.

Need some beautiful chill morning music? There’s over an hour of various musicians and their songs compiled into one lovely click. Oh my!

Indie/Pop/Folk Compilation – November 2018 (1½-Hour Playlist)

Ultimate Indie-Folk Playlist (almost 2 hours of solid music!!)

How about the Best Songs of Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith? Yup! Check it out. I feel loved.

Snowy November Day

Winter came on Sunday. It was a good day to appear – snuggled down in the coziness of my warm walls, I only ventured out because I wanted to. And I did it in my time frame. Oh to be so lucky!

During my walk, I let the cold air numb my face and take me on a journey to another place. I was warm, my body was moving but having my face feel the air was refreshing beyond measure. I had a scarf wrapped around my face so that the snow blowing from the west wouldn’t blind me  –  but most of the time I just ‘took it on the chin’ so to speak.

Cold Day Hike

There’s a great hike in Fort Collins that is not too strenuous but the reward at the top is the view of Horsetooth Reservoir. Today the temperature was about 38 degrees with a mild wind blowing. The sun was shining and the sky was Colorado blue.

I listened to some podcasts along the hike (Bill Maher, Clark Howard) and wished I had a book downloaded on my Libby app. It was about mid-day so I was ready for mental stimulation instead of just getting into my own head.

I took a few photos at the top but after a short while, it was time to move again. I was going to get cold or my body was going to get stiff. Either way, it was time to get my boots moving again.

Tonight – a chili cook-off at Horse & Dragon Brewery.

In motion … here, there and everywhere!

Since the Peaches posts was added, I’ve taken a few more trips.

At the end of August I went to Syracuse, NY and while I was there, I attended the NY State Fair which is held in Syracuse. I went twice and loved both experiences.  The weather was really warm *HOT! and HUMID! and every day the fair broke attendance records of over 100,000 people.  The fair was an event that my family always attend when we were young. It was affordable, educational and kept us busy for hours.

While in NY, I also had the wonderful experience to visit Cayuga wine country. Boy was that fun. I could have easily visited a dozen wineries but had to contain my drinking and joy. My sister and I did make the most of the places we visited and sipped this wine, nibbled on those crackers and voted on this crisp white wine or that blended red.

Another great trip in September was a road trip to Pagosa Springs, CO to visit some friends.Pagosa Springs Balloon Fest

While there, I went to the Overlook Hot Springs, the Pagosa Springs ColorFest Weekend, visited the Farmer’s Market, and lots of local galleries and shops.

The drive home was pretty spectacular with all the fall colors bursting across the landscape.

October delivered me back to my family in Carson City. It’s hard to be long distance when there is a darling little girl growing up and doing all the amazing things that happen in the early years of life. Oh, to be in two places at once!
