Sometimes, having a routine helps us stay sane. People newly unemployed or recently retired often lose their wits because they can’t keep track of days. Couples who fall out of relationships (divorce, death, job demands) have trouble with their rhythms too.

Turning to something that grounds you and something you look forward to is important to a good state of health. For some, it’s walking the dog, reading the paper, making a meal or watching a favorite show or two. When you find that place, indulge. No regrets. Do it wholeheartedly.

I pick and choose when it comes to television and have many books to read to keep me company in the evening. I am reading the second book, Winter of the World, in the Century Trilogy by Ken Follett. I recently watched the amazing documentary on Public Broadcasting System’s (PBS) The Roosevelt’s series. The information from Ken Follett’s books and the PBS documentary are woven together.

Years ago I read Outlander, a series of books by Diane Gabaldon. Now a made-for-tv original series, this television show pulls me in with the theme song.  There’s something wonderful, haunting and compelling in this song. The words are below.
