Taking a break from writing today and thought I’d share some images of Rocky Mountain National Park with you.
It’s a great place to visit and if you can get a cabin at YMCA of the Rockies, you’ll be amazed beyond belief!

YMCA of the Rockies
This establishment is one of Colorado’s best kept secrets – cabins located in the pine trees, surrounded by nature, fresh air, sunshine, lots of sky, family friendly, located about 5 miles outside of Estes Park… You will get a taste for Colorado like never before!
We stayed at these cabins once when the girls were little. Woke up to a coyote on our front porch. Wonderful up there!!

The YMCA of the Rockies is always one of my stops when I visit Estes Park. Their huge Registration Building has a wonderful porch with stunning views, a huge fire burning inside a massive stone fireplace, a gift shop and a place to buy a hot tasty cup of cocoa.. and elk are always on display – moving at their own pace.

I’ve always wanted to see Colorado … every time I listen to a John Denver-song.
This post made this longing even more palpable.

I am in love with this place. There is so much sky here! You have to see it to understand the expanse – a bowl of blue above with a skyline of mountains. Tis a beauty!

That is so great, Marge!! I always have you in mind when I think of the epitome of the Colorado experience. In all the years I lived there, I never had the soul connection with the mountain surroundings like you have. I think that different landscapes call out to different people…it seems primal that we are all so in tune with the earth. Interesting, though, is the variegated nature of how the earth calls to us from different voices. I finally found my home when I discovered Washington state…the multidimensional waterway passages, set beneath the background of mountain ranges comforted me. In finding my true home, I finally could understand the experience that people were talking about when they said they felt such a love for the landscape of Colorado! And here…I love reading your description and affirmation of your true home!!
